
CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support
This role is ideal for individuals who are working or seeking work opportunities in a range of community settings and peoples’ homes, who provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work according to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. They may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Completion of CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability PLUS CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.

Target Learners
The course is designed for individuals who are willing to work within community and/or residential settings. The training and assessment strategy is targeted at the learners who are seeking to pursue a career in providing disability care, as well as those wanting to undertake supervisory roles in Disability sector, as well as those wanting a pathway to Diploma of Community Services to undertake managerial roles.
Learners will be 18-year-old or above and may have had work and study experience if they have already completed Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification. Credit and/or RPL can be provided for those with existing skills and knowledge allowing such to complete the course in a shorter timeframe.
Qualification and Employment pathways
As per the Training Package learners must have completed following qualification to undertake CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support

Participants must meet the LLN requirements as listed.
Based on the results of the LLN assessment, training staff will decide if the learner needs any assistance from the trainer upon commencement.

After achieving in CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support, learners may wish to continue their education.
